At the Rocky Beach
I was standing by the beach.
It was Magnason park beach.
It is a rocky beach.
I sat down.
I stared at the lake,
There was a beautiful sunset.
I look at the rock near by,
I grab it.
It was cold and flat.
And I threw it,
To sea how many times I can bounce the rock on the water.
One,
Two,
Three.
It bounced off the water three times.
I grab the nearest rock again and try it again.
One,
Two,
Three.
It bounced off the water three times again.
I was not happy with the result.
This time, I carefully hand picked the rock.
I looked for the flattest and light but not to light rock.
I carefully threw the rock in the lake.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
It bounces off the water five times this time.
I was pleased with the result.
I stood up
I turned around and start going home.
It was getting darker

I’m looking for focus in poems, details, and a personal voice. This poem has all three! I really felt like I was there!
